A revolução está na rua! | The revolution is on the street !
40 anos de liberdade são esta semana celebrados por todo o país, mas é em Lisboa que a revolução, que se deu a 25 de abril de 1974, está mais presente. Na cidade que foi palco principal da “revolução dos cravos”, os eventos para assinalarem a data multiplicam-se e são o perfeito argumento para uma visita à capital.
No America Diamonds Hotel gostamos de desafiar os nossos hóspedes a conhecerem a cidade, ligando-se à sua história. “Itinerários de Lisboa” é, por isso, o nome do percurso pedonal que nos dias 23 e 24 de abril a Câmara Municipal promove e cujo roteiro passa por alguns dos locais mais enigmáticos do 25 de Abril. Começando na Praça do Município e terminando no Largo do Carmo, os participantes podem assim recriar as movimentações de um dos dias mais marcantes da história de Portugal.
Por estes dias, pelas ruas da capital, é também possível sentir ainda um pouco do frenesim do dia da revolução e uma passagem pela exposição da Galeria de Arte Urbana, na calçada da Glória e largo da Oliveirinha, é obrigatória. Os murais de abril, que começaram a aparecer um pouco por todo o lado após a revolta, foram reinterpretados e sete artistas foram convidados a pintar os seus murais. A arte urbana faz parte da cidade e os lisboetas dão-lhe cada vez mais atenção.
A música foi também uma das personagens principais da revolução e são vários os concertos propostos pela programação festiva da Câmara Municipal. Damos destaque ao espetáculo musical com vídeo mapping e criação pirotécnica alusivos ao 25 de abril, que terá lugar no Terreiro do Paço na noite de 24. Para além do espetáculo vídeo, alguns dos músicos portugueses de maior destaque vão marcar presença, reinterpretando algumas das canções de abril. Depois, à meia-noite, a atenção passa para o rio Tejo onde, ao som de “Grândola, Vila Morena” de Zeca Afonso, vai decorrer uma criação pirotécnica.
Quatro décadas após o fim da ditadura, as celebrações impõem-se e são muitos os motivos para visitar a capital portuguesa. Junte-se a nós nesta festa com cheiro a cravos e a liberdade!
40 years of freedom are celebrated this week throughout the country, but it’s in Lisbon, where the revolution took place, that the revolution of 25 April 1974 is more present. In America Diamonds Hotel we like to challenge our guests to get to know the city , connecting to its history. ” Itineraries of Lisbon ” is the name of the pedestrian route that on 23 and 24 April the Lisbon City Hall promotes and whose route passes through some of the most enigmatic places of April 25. Starting at Praça do Município and ending at Largo do Carmo, so participants can recreate the movements of one of the most memorable days in the history of Portugal .
These days , in the streets of Lisbon, it is also possible to still feel some of the chaos of the revolution day and a passage through the exhibition of Galeria de Arte Urbana is mandatory . The murals of April, that started appearing a bit all over the place after the revolution, were also reinterpreted by seven artists who were invited to paint their own.
Music was also one of the main characters of the revolution and there are several concerts schedule by the City Hall. We highlight the musical spectacle with video mapping, which will take place in Terreiro do Paço on the night of 24. Besides the video show, some of the most prominent portuguese musicians will attend, reinterpreting some of the songs of April . At midnight , the attention shifts to Tejo River where with the sound of ” Grândola, Vila Morena ” by Zeca Afonso , a pyrotechnic creation will take place .
Four decades after the end of the dictatorship , the celebrations are binding and there are many reasons to visit the Portuguese capital. Join us for this party with the smell of carnations and freedom!
