PRAIA DO CAMILO
PRAIA DO CAMILO

A long wooden staircase gives access to the beach, traversing a zone of bushes with plants typical of the Algarvian baroque: carrascos, aroeiras, roselhas and sargasços. On the face of the top most exposed to the sea, they dominate the salgadeira and the barilla, plants well adapted to the salsugem. A huge rock formation divides the sand; it is possible to cross it through a narrow and humid tunnel, excavated by hand. In this rocky formation and also in those that delimit the Camilo beach, they impress the ocher tones and the lace of the cliffs carved in calcarenitos, where you can appreciate reliefs typical of the carso as leixões, arches and caves. Numerous birds enjoy the rocky platforms of the leixões, inaccessible to predators, being common to observe on this beach cormorants, seagulls and winches.
