Antes de iniciar a descida para a praia vale a pena alongar o olhar no pequeno miradouro e contemplar a linha de costa e as curiosas formações rochosas esculpidas pelas águas doces e salgadas: leixões, algares e grutas. Nos leixões dispersos pelo horizonte brilham inúmeros pontos brancos: gaivotas, garças ou guinchos repousam nestas plataformas sobranceiras ao mar. O areal da praia Dona Ana desdobra-se em reentrâncias geradas pelo recorte da arriba, proporcionando recantos resguardados aos banhistas. Já dentro de água, um passeio de máscara e barbatanas revela um colorido diferente: algas, anémonas, estrelas-do-mar, ouriços, camarões ou cardumes de pequenos peixes, povoam os blocos rochosas imersos. Dona Ana é uma praia afamada e muito frequentada, tendo já sido considerada uma das melhores praias do mundo por publicações da especialidade.
