TOP PRAIAS DO ALGARVE | TOP BEACHES OF ALGARVE – Praia do Pinhão

Esta praia pode ser alcançada através dum trilho pedonal que parte da Praia D. Ana, percorrendo o topo da arriba ao longo de 300 metros, e onde se pode observar alguma da vegetação típica do litoral: pampilho-marítimo, açafate-de-prata, salgadeira e barrilha crescem profusamente nas cavidades rochosas. Para o interior dominam espécies características dos matos como a aroeira e o zambujeiro. A praia encontra-se dividida por uma formação rochosa que exibe arcos e grutas; os areais são pequenos e encontram-se encaixados entre arribas altas, talhadas em rochas carbonatadas de cores quentes. No setor norte da praia, mais exíguo, foi construído um miradouro com uma escadaria que desce até mar, permitindo, na maré cheia, mergulhar na água salgada sem passar pela areia. Uma extensa área rochosa imersa convida aos passeios subaquáticos. Apesar de se encontrar já perto da malha urbana de Lagos, a praia é relativamente tranquila.

This beach can be reached via a pedestrian trail that starts from Praia D. Ana, covering the top of the cliff for 300 meters, and where you can see some of the typical vegetation of the coast: sea pampilho, açafate-de-prata, sea salt and ash grow profusely in rocky cavities. Inland, species characteristic of the forests dominate, such as mastic and wild olive. The beach is divided by a rock formation that has arches and caves; the sands are small and are nestled between high cliffs, carved in warm colored carbonate rocks. In the northern section of the beach, which is narrower, a viewpoint was built with a staircase that goes down to the sea, allowing, at high tide, to dive into the salt water without going through the sand. An extensive immersed rocky area invites you to take underwater walks. Despite being close to the urban fabric of Lagos, the beach is relatively quiet.
