Cristo Rei
O santuário do Cristo Rei localiza-se em Almada, próximo da portagem da ponte 25 de Abril e é bem visível de toda a frente ribeirinha de Lisboa. Eleva-se a 113 metros acima do mar e é constituído por, um pórtico com 75 metros de altura, encimado pela gigantesca e maravilhosa estátua de Cristo, com mais 28 metros de altura, obra escultor Francisco Franco de Sousa. É um dos melhores miradouros sobre Lisboa, mas foi construído com um propósito espiritual e inspirado pela estátua do Cristo-Redentor do Rio de Janeiro.
Do terraço frontal ao monumento pode admirar Lisboa, mas se subir ao miradouro colocado no topo, a que se ascende através de um elevador interior, terá acesso a uma vista panorâmica de 360 graus sobre toda a área envolvente. É acessível pelo comboio que atravessa a ponte, saindo na estação do Pragal e descendo de autocarro até ao terminal fluvial de Cacilhas ou de barco de Lisboa até Cacilhas. Em ambos os casos, apanhe o autocarro 101, que o deixa à porta do santuário.
The Shrine of Christ-King is located in Almada, near the bridge toll April 25 and is clearly visible from all Lisbon riverfront. Rises to 113 meters above sea level, consisting of 75 meters gantry tall, topped by the gigantic and wonderful statue of Christ, with over 28 meters tall, work of the sculptor Francisco Franco de Sousa. It is one of the best viewpoints over Lisbon, but was built with a spiritual purpose and inspired by the statue of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro.
In the front terrace you can admire the monument Lisbon, but if you climb to the viewpoint placed at the top, to which one ascends through an internal lift, will have access to a panoramic 360 degree views over the surrounding area. It is accessible by train crosses the bridge, leaving the Pragal station and take bus down to the river terminal Cacilhas, or boat from Lisbon to Cacilhas. In both cases, take bus 101, which stops at the door of the sanctuary.
